NEWS:  Gleneagles Phantom (imp NZ)

We have been lucky to have had Phantom (Tom) since he was 6 months old . We travelled to NZ and picked him out as a future sire at Otway View . He arrived at Tullamarine on a jumbo jet, along side of the shuttle stallions. His beautiful nature soon becoming apparent. Tom has certainly lived up to all expectations. His first mares produced two lovely colts .Gleneagles Apollo from Millbrae Olympic who we are keeping entire to see how he grows and Otway View Ferrari from Otway View Queen Bee who has been sold as a future saddle pony at Rivington Stud in South Australia.

For two seasons Tom was taken away for showing by the Cameron family of Freshwater Creek. Broken in and shown by Georgie Cameron it soon became apparent that he was something special under saddle. His beautiful conformation with massive hindquarters and powerful shoulders allow him to flow along like a dressage horse. Even with an adult weight, he never loses his free flowing movement with correct and straight action. He has been very successful under saddle and shows how a Shetland pony with the deep body and good bone, of a true Shetland type can be ridden successfully.

We have decided to retire Tom from the showring and concentrate on breeding him to our mares .Even though he loves all the attention he gets at the shows, he will not miss the heat of summer showing. Being so deep and a reasonably heavy black pony, feels the heat ,he hates rugs and being worked and sweating in the hot weather this causes him to continually rub and even with electric fences will roll and rub on the ground which destroys his mane.
Due to Tom being away for showing for two stud seasons we will not have any foals by him this coming year, however Gleneagles Pringle Bay also by Harviestoun Pharoah has been running with some of our mares. Hopefully we should have some new foals in the spring. Pringle has also given us 2 colts and 1 filly.

Both of these colts are in Australia as future sires. We are working in conjunction with Sue Jackson from Gleneagles Stud in New Zealand to bring the bloodlines of Harviestoun Stud in Scotland to Australia and New Zealand.
